01794399253 called my landline on Thursday 13 July and a recorded message advised me that money had been transferred from my account and to key 1 to sort it. 01794 is a Romsey UK number as is my number so I assumed it was local. I did not continue with the call. It was the same as other messages that I have received recently mentioned Amazon. How do scammers phone from local numbers?

This person identifies himself as Thomas from Adobe and had has been placing calls over and over to us to the point of harassment. He has been told that we will not put his call through to the person he wishes to speak to as they dont want his call. He tries to intimidate his way through and then sits mimicking me down the phone line. He leaves the call connected so nobody else can call our number. Received a text claiming person had an accident. I responded as I recognised the name - turns out this was a lucky guess / coincidence. They then replied asking for a phone top up - Google says this is a scam.
Answered the phone, n0-one there, followed by a similar call from a different number literally 1 minute later!!
