Had a small traffic accident this morning and exchanged details, other driver was with Swinton insurance and decided not to claim and pay for her damage herself. Just had a missed call from this number and then a text saying that I have been involved in an accident and that they are her insurers and to phone them - very fishy!

I do not answer, but when they leave a message they do not explain who they actually are, nor what it is about. The other number is 01482 618100, which I assume is related to 01482 483281. SCAM Seems to be a call center as noisy line. Tried to obtain bank details etc under false pretences, alleging an engineer from BT has detected problems on my home landline and that without rectification I could incur £+ costs but if remedial action is taken quickly charges may be reduced. I asked for their engineer and departmental details but got nowhere so advised would call BT myself and the caller rang off. One for OfCom and other authorities.
