This is a number used by scammers trying to access your computer by telling you that it is infected, they guide you to view the syslog and look at the really bad infections. Then if you are daft enough they get you to open a command prompt window and log onto their website - result yhey have your computer and bye bye to lots of money

I have not answered to these people. Not once. Yet, they call at least weekly. I ve got a years line rental with BT paid for up-front, which allows me to block 99% of unwanted calls (with a BT blocker phone purchased separately, in case anyone was wondering). A Google search indicates that the number, if genuine, belongs to a charity called Mary s Meals, which operates in several cities and provides meals for deprived children.

Potential scam. There was a recorded message supposedely from my internet service provider (although it didn't say which ISP they were calling on behalf), saying that our internet service would be disconnected in 4 hours due to 'Router Malfunction'. Our router is working fine. I suspect this is a 'Technical Support Scam', where we would be expected to pay for fixing something that isn't broke.
