text message with phone # attempting to procure my debit card information. The message asked if I spent a certain amount at a nearby supermarket I shop at. Then they send me a URL to contact. I put in the url and my computer warned me the site was fraudulent and looking for credit cards, bank info, social security numbers etc. The entire page went red and warned me to NOT give any info to these people. I am still going to call my bank tomorrow morning - Better to be safe than sorry.
Seems to be one of these broadband scam outfits - claims to be from Virgin then BT.
Someone called from this number on Saturday 10/09/2022 around 11:44 (BST) telling me that I must pay my tax or I will be charged of Tax evasion. I am worried.

Persistently calling the last couple of digits of the number change to like 5176 or 5274 or 5175 etc. They call at antisocial hours eg Sunday mornings etc. I suspect, although I never answer, that they’re some kind of debt collector for councils.

Although the number is a London number it would appear it is redirected from a foreign country as the language was not great and any question I asked was answered with a repeated line stating the deal they were offering and not actually answering my question. Harassed by the owner of this number Dec , 2022. Sandy? goes by Sazz on whatsapp -

He said he was working for Amazon and needed to track down who had ordered 2 mobile phones from Amazon using my bank details (which he had) but had arranged to be delivered to an address that was not mine. To do this he wanted me to go into my bank app and arrange a transfer of £5000 to an account for which he provided and which my bank cleared as existing. I went along with it up to the point of transfer and he then became pressing and agitated.
Still don't know who it is.

Suggests they are from your bank (but they don't tell you which one because they don't know) Informs you by automated call that large transfers have been made out of your account (which is rubbish). Getting so fed up with calls from this number, and others including what appear as mobiles, telling me that my "home appliance insurance" with them has expired, or is about to expire, and asking for my bank details so that it can be renewed. Very strange that the company insuring me (they're not, of course) has no idea what appliances I have. Calls coming 2-4 times each day.
