Told me he had detected my wireless connection was slow and they had been monitoring it for two weeks on the DNS server. He said my computer had a virus and needed me to connect to the internet so he could fix it. I told him I was an IT manager and he was talking nonsense and to go forth and multiply. He rang back and replied likewise and called me derogatory names. Don t be fooled by callers from this number telling you your computer has a virus. Hang up!!!

They had the cheek to call me again - when I was busy of course - with their wretched recorded message saying it was not too late. I think they can be prosecuted for this harassment and dishonesty, pretending people have claims when they know nothing about whether they have or not, and be heavily fined. Similar to other comments - caller said he was from Microsoft and said my computer had been sending them warning messages. Wanted me to log on so he could fix it ! He was a bit confused when I said I only had Apple computers and not Microsoft and then hung up when I told him that I would refer this to Action Fraud!

Lady knew my last name and claimed to be from a reputable building society - Nationwide. However, she persisted in asking my first name so after she kept pushing, I told her Mrs . She read it out loud but then realised it wasn t what she wanted and so pushed further n asked my full name. I told her just my first - no middle names, then she said Thank you Mam and hung up!
