Possible fraud from someone claiming this as their phone number. Wanting to check who they really are.

called claiming that they were EON energy, and that we needed to renew our energy contract....asked them to confirm, and they restated that they were EON energy. Time wasters / mis-rep / fraud.

They hung up without speaking a few seconds after I answered. I suspect an insurance scam after reading comments on here coupled with an attempted fraud on my insurance a few years ago. They are based in Manchester where my broker is and I live in the south. Draw your own conclusions.

Picked up the phone and an automated voice said "this is a message from....." there was a number but they said it so quickly I couldn t take it down. The message was "are you online for real?". No idea what it meant and I wasn t online at the time

Answered because it showed a mobile number. Same as other reports, caller asked me to confirm that I had been in a car accident that wasn t my fault. I said no, and asked to be removed form the mailing list and not called again. She hung up. Blocked.

They called up asking if I had recently been involved in a car crash. It sounded similar to that scam that makes you say yes and then uses your recording to claim that you agreed to some contract or scam your credit card or something. 23 Nov 2021 - Silence at first, then a click and background call centre noise. An Asian person then said "Hello Maam, it's "Jacks from Carphone Warehouse. How are you today?" I said I wasn't interested and put the phone down, as I haven't had any dealings with Carphone Warehouse. I also suspect this isn't really Carphone Warehouse!Reply

2 weeks ago i went to take my benefits out my account and 59.99 was taken out i then gt in touch with the bank the fraud team hv investigated and called me yesterday saying ive gt to call them myself as they hv all my details been trying all day today and yesterday numbers dont exist will i get this money back or should i just give up its a disgrace

Call from heavily-accented female who told me I have lots of viruses and malware on my computer. I asked where she was from - Windows department(!) I pretended to be shocked and asked her how she could tell and she got me to open event viewer - which I did, to see the normal number of errors and warnings.
