A guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT stated that my telephone bill is going to be reduced. Kept asking questions seemingly to elicit a Yes answer. Totally implausible - BT would contact me direct. Probable scam.

Fraud. Claiming to be from Virgin Media regarding fault on my Router. Ended the call to do a phone number check to verify the caller. Checked with Virgin Media and the phone number, and details of the call, were not known to them. They have said it is a fraudulent call and to ignore it.

It is a number where they are trying to get your BT details so they can hack your account! I asked BT about this and they said that they are getting loads of people asking what it was all about.

An Indian lady called "April" said she was from BT and wanted to know how we were getting on with our internet connection (we do not use BT either for phone or internet). I told her I did not think she was genuine and could I call them back once

Didn't even know my name, just wanted to confirm I was the owner of the number they were calling. Another scammer - just hang up.

SCAM Said he was from Sky Protect. New my cover was about to expire, my name and postcode. Wanted to give my a discount. I already had a letter about my renewal, so it must have been a scam. He didn't know my policy number. Said I would get a new policy number. Phoned Sky Protect direct. They new nothing about it.

Wanted to do a survey (after 6 pm on a Saturday night) and wanted to know my age and when I asked what relevance this had to the conversation he hung up on me! Possibly didn't understand the word 'relevance' as his grasp of the English language was rather poor
