It's a Macclesfield area code. Bunch of cold callers. Before I took part in an Office of National Statistics (ONS) survey I didn't receive such calls. Despite the ONS saying they didn't release my details to 3rd parties it seems they did as the coincidence is too great. Block this number as I have done.

Unsolicited call from 'Microsoft' claiming to be from Reading, England and with very English sounding names, but distinctly Indian sub-continent accents. Wanted to change settings on my 'computer' to prevent hacking. All sounded very plausible, and they gave this number for me to call back. I then did some research and discovered that it had to be a scam, since Microsoft would never make such a call. Beware & put the phone down immediately.

This number is costing me £2.50 every time I receive a text from them, but I have never contacted them or subscribed to anything!!! 02 wont do anything as its a third party and I've tried sending a "stop" message as 02 told me to, to no avail. I think these things quite disgusting - and even worse is that 02 wont help! VERY UNHAPPY

Call center - Shaw Academy taking a lead from online, calling to try to sign me up for an online course. I told her three times I was no longer interested, she wouldn't accept that and kept trying to ask more questions. Didn't want to be rude, but she wouldn't take the hint, so I hang up.
This is First Response Claims. They keep calling asking if I've had an accident, and when I tell them "Yes when I was having sex with your mum" they seem to get rather irate. Doesn't stop them calling me though.

That s when I googled the number and realised it was a fishing phone call
