SCAM / SPAM When I answered the call an automated voice told me that it was HMRC and I was being investigated for tax fraud. It said to press 1 to be taken to HMRC. I pressed 1 and a lady with an Indian accent answered saying she was HMRC and "how can I help you?" I explained that I had just answered the phone to this number saying I was being investigated and she asked for my name. Call supposed to be Amazon telling me someone had just spent £700 but they put a hold on it because they thought it was suspicious, it requested that I should press 1 for info. This was an automated call so I politely(not) said go away and I hung up
Usual stuff. Today i asked them to hold the line while I find the details. Set the timer and put the phone on mute. I ve had them wait for as long as 10 minutes before. The more time I waste the less they harass somebody else.
