SCAM Apparently my National Insurance Number has been used for illegal activity, and is being suspended. Press 1 to speak to an 'operator'. This scam has been round for quite a while, but could really frighten some people who don't know how government departments work.

SCAM Fraud BEWARE ! This number has only recently appeared on this site (August 2023) from other people checking. Caller says you've suspicious transactions on your card, knows your name and last four digits of the card. Asks you to check the balance, in my case without any security questions. Let them ramble on for a bit; apparently I could be owed thousands in PPI claims, which they would chase for me for only 30% of it. For reassurance they gave me a different callback number to the one that had rung on my mobile, then asked if I would speak to my bank and request PPI information on their behalf while they kept me on hold. SCAM / SPAM Allegedly Amazon Prime. Number blocked.
Call Guardian blocked this caller. I returned the call on my mobile which was answered by "Calls UK" "customer services" (on a mobile number?!). Apparently we have a "policy" re: nuisance calls and we will be contacted again. I said we don t wish to be contacted again and, in fact, our "policy" is rubbish. She then hung up on me. Obviously a scam = blocked.

I was interrupted by the same people calling again with their recorded message, telling me someone was waiting to speak to me. They can carry on waiting. After identifying this as another nuisance call - the second today - I hung up.

Received many calls from same number but just the last digit changes. It is an automated message saying that they are HMRC and that a tax fraud claim is made against me, that I should press 1 and talk to a representative otherwise I will be arrested shortly. It is so annoying as to how they get my number, i have had so many unsolicitored calls recently. Who is selling my information, I am so carefull in completing any online applications with my sensitive details?
