If a company like this keeps calling and ask if they are speaking to you, say no and ask what department they work in and keep playing a long as if you are in a multinational company. If they think you are a business, they take you off their cold calling list straight away. Have done this with multiple companies and they never ring back.

Tried to claim I was under investigation by HMRC. Asked his name (to which the evidently-Indian man replied, "Mark Williams" after a pause) and told him the police were listening to the call. He quickly hung up.
I haven't found any rating for this number somewhere else, which should be a good sign... Has someone some experience with this one?

I got called by this number at 18:07. The line was silent and when I hung up it called again. A quick search suggested it was Barclays Bank. An odd time of day for a bank to call! I contacted Barclays via their app for a live text chat. The operator assured me it was a Barclays number and not a scam.
