Was called this morning about 10am was a recorded message, saying we need your authority to pass payment to amazon of £500, and also about a £1000 that needs authorising, the recorded message was crackling and hard to hear all but i just hung up. then did 1471 to see who it was as they made out it was my bank wanting authorisation.
Definitely not British Gas. Very out of date information, no idea what name was on the account, could only give us details on our closed account from years ago, and tried to say our contact was up very soon (it's not)

Picked up the call and got a pre-recorded message from an American sounding female voice informing me that I had placed an order with AMAZON for gift cards to the value of £700. If I wished to question or check it to dial 1 or 2. This is clearly a SCAM after my banking details as I have not purchased anything from Amazon. I therefore class this call to my landline as DANGEROUS

Telephone number - 01264355257. This number rang me saying my card had been charged for £600 on Amazon and Western union for £300. I hang up without making any selections as suggested by the caller.
Phoned me and played a computer recodred message which claimed to be from my card provider, without telling me who they were. Told me that there had been suspicious transactions on my account and tried to get me to speak to them. I hung up and checked with my bank who told me that nothing of the sort could have happened. Fraudulent telephone call. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!
SCAM, Tom is extremely harassing. He will call you and keep calling you until you pick up the phone. He makes you feel pressured into buying electricity with him. Not a friendly service, not a friendly man, almost feels like a scam and dangerous. Block his number because he will be extremely persistent. 01189077601 called today totally silent before hanging up. Being a local call i dialed 1471 to see who called me. The number was in fact a mobile number being 074267249 in which case is has to be someone who is a scam merchant jumping on another phone line.
This number messaged saying "u ve got mail!" and then sent a link which goes on the sky broadband shield webpage nI blocked the number.
