SCAM / SPAM This came up as a local number but was clearly a scammer. The person started by saying that someone had tried to use my bank details to buy a mobile phone. Absolute rubbish and definitely a scammer. Beware!

this person rang saying that my National Insurance number has been compromised and had been used illegally several times, that they were going to delete the NI number and insisting that I press 1 to speak to an official. The guy sounded manic and may have severe psychological issues
Answered phone, said the were from investigation unit, so stopped call. Could be a scam.
Further to "Tired of scammers..." I have now been called 5 times in 2 days by this supposed Cheltenham number. (Yet they tell you they are in London if you ask, although they are at a loss if you ask in which part of London.) I am confident that they are in fact located in the Indian subcontinent. All five callers gave indigenous British names: "Mark", "Chris James", "Hazel", "David Hopkins", yet all five had Indian accents. Call-centre-like hubbub in the background.
