Received a call 5th November 2020 from 01321509028 at 09:44. They did not identify themselves, only to say that Internet would be cut off and to press one on telephone to reset ...
TAXES / HMRC Recorded message alleging fraud case in my name. This would be alarming to elderly or vulnerable person.
TAXES / HMRC Automated call claiming to be from HMRC. Problem with unpaid taxes which I needed to pay right away. Press 1 to contact HMRC to resolve payment. Failure to do so, or if this line is cut off, a warrent will be issued in my name and an arrest would be imminent. I shut the phone. Definite scam.
SCAM / SPAM Answered phone as appeared to be a local number. After I said hello there were a few clicks on the line & someone with a foreign accent said his name was Mike & he was from online support. Asked him if he really thought I was stupid, to which he didn’t answer, but repeated he was from online support. I ended call.
