I was expecting a call from a person on a number unknown to me. This number called but as soon as I answered put the phone down. My mum told me to check my credit and they had taken it. I had recently put £5 on my phone, and was left with only a couple of pounds. BEWARE!

This call was a follow-up call from the Met Police after I reported a theft via their 101 non-emergency number. They repeated to me details from my 101 call, so I have no doubt it was the police. I imagine its unknown etc as it comes through their switchboard, I get the same when the wife rings me from work phone.

RTA Scam. They are breaking the law by cold calling numbers on the TPS (Telephone Preference Service). I think the best way to hit them where it hurts (if you have the time) is to keep the on the line as long as possible, keeping them thinking you are/might be interested, without giving out personal (or real) details. This number repeatedly called me after my husband who has alzheimers took the first call. He remembered nothing about this call but they rang again quoting all the information he had given them, when I refused to pass the phone to him they repeatedly rang me for a couple of days. eventually I reported them to the police and thought that was the end of it. Today they have phoned me 3 times!! At a loss now what to do.
