started getting messages soon after texting with BT, on the hour, every hour, that made little sense nor related to my BT calls. Spoke to BT who confirmed the texts were not from them. Have turned the phone off for the night to see if that stops it.

Telemarketers, usual nonsense, I suggest you just cut the call if answered by mistake, block them on the mobile or landline handset if you are able, if you do talk to them then of course ask for your details to be removed etc... SCAM Called asking could I confirm if I had been involved in an accident (I hadn't). I asked not to call my number again, which resulted in further calls which I didn't answer. SCAM Phone call from someone claiming to work for Carphone Warehouse offering new promotion where they can undercut my current phone deal with the same minutes, texts and data. When he asked how he knew what deal I was on and did he know who he was talking to he said no. I then advised him that he was in breach of GDPR/PECR rules by making an unsolicited marketing call to a number and person that he didn't know and did not have permission to contact (I work in compliance).
