automated call telling me there has been a suspicious foreign currency transaction on my debit card for £600 (strange its exactly £600 in a foreign currency!!!) and that I should press '2' to speak to a customer service advisor. Pressed '2' to see where it would divert me and went straight through to a foreign call centre.

Curiously they refer to a card payment with "your usual payment card" and give no confirmation such as last 4 digits. Has all the makings of seeking to get you to part with bank/credit card details. Beware. Number is quoted on dial back with extra leading zero

Vanquis Bank are sneaky and use lots of different telephone numbers to trick you into answering. For your convenience, I have listed many of the telephone numbers that they use below. If you answer calls from these numbers you may be charged for Debt Management so buy a BT8500 and stop all of these calls easily. Rang today, when I asked why they had called me and how they received my mobile number he just continued with PPI refund speech. Again I explained that I don t have loans or a mortgage so he then began to question me as to if I knew what PPI was as I must have signed up for it. Rude and don t take no for an answer so next time they call I am going to blow a whistle down the ear piece of my phone.
