Scam and/or phishing attempt. It attempted to get me to message the phone number via WhatsApp. The person had sent an SMS from another number (07566706069) claiming to have dropped their phone down the toilet and that they’d instantly acquired a new phone. They asked me to message specifically via WhatsApp (???). This is the fourth message I’ve had this week, from a variety of unknowns, being asked to message a new number by someone claiming to have lost/damaged their phone.

My phone flagged the call as POTENTIAL FRAUD so I didn't answer. No voicemail.

Said they were calling (my elderly father who lives with Dementia ????) from Domestic & General, which then changed to Legal & General, then back to D&G, wanting to pay a £250 refund and could they just have his bank card details to check…. ???? Fortunately I was there to intercept. SCAM received a call from this number this morning. It was a message claiming to be from "your bank", stating that there was a withdrawal of money from my account, asking me to call back to "confirm the transaction". It's another scam, just hang up. DO NOT CALL THEM.
