"Orlando" called from "You Compare" requesting to speak to Mr [Mobile Phone Owners Surname" regarding life insurance policy which they are reviewing (I don t have a life insurance policy). Advised that he is based in Dakar, Bangladesh and that they use an automatic dialler with my telephone number being obtained from an opt-in database. Does relate to an account setup. It s a company relates to crypto and it s a courtesy call. Caller is actually in Cyprus not London Dodgy number but thanks BT for allowing such things legal but misleading. Call genuine.
It is a scam pretending as HSBC and asking you to click the link. The message says a payment has been attempted fron a NEW DEVICE
This company uses various combinations of telephone number. I just let the answer phone kick in. If I recognise the voice I then answer, can have 6 -10 of this type of call a day. I do 1471 and keep a note of all the numbers and then check them out on Google.
Claimed he was calling from Microsoft. When I said to him that he was making it all up, he told me "If I didn t like it I could shove it up my ass and go F**k myself". Charming. I know my father has picked up the phone before and had the same issues with him. Sounds like the same Asian man.
