A scam caller called Crypto-something-or-other. Offered me 50 dollars of Bitcoin in exchange for attending some seminar; no doubt the scam is that they try to sell you more junk cryptocurrency. Nobody really transfers Bitcoin in increments as low as $50 because the fees are so high. They knew my first name somehow and ignored the TPS Do Not Call list.

They know my full name, postcode and house number and when asked where this data is from they said it’s from a public database. I ignored the calls to my mobile thinking they would eventually stop. After 4 (FOUR) weeks of them calling between 3-5 times a day I eventually rang them on a recorded landline to tell them to stop ringing my mobile.

I have caller ID. The number 00349441210763 was shown which immediately changed to 01213140763, so I suspect the number was spoofed. The first number was probably spoofed also, as I have international calls barred. The caller had a thick foreign accent and I did not understand everything that was said.
