Vanquis Bank are sneaky and use lots of different telephone numbers to trick you into answering. For your convenience, I have listed many of the telephone numbers that they use below. I ve had a call from this number during the last year on several occasions, who rang off when my answer phone tripped in without actually leaving a message. At first I put it down to a miss-hit finger on a wrong key which can happen to anyone. SCAM Received call with recorded message purporting to be from HRMC, saying something about fraud and my account. It didn't sound at all genuine. The recorded voice sounded fairly cross and ended with 'If you don't press 1 you will be arrested immediately'.

Not even worth entering into conversation with. Think of loads of Foreign words and say them all in one sentence at once, then keep repeating small parts of the sentence repeatedly. They just hang up :-)
