SCAM Presented themselves as an online competition for a DELL laptop through The Warehouse New Zealand. They asked for an entry fee to get our bank card number, took the entry fee then 3 days later took more money. I’ve just been called from this number claiming to be my credit card fraud check. It mentions two extremely high transactions, not made by me, then to press 1 to authorise or 2 to talk to customer service. I didn’t, I hung up, checked all my cards. No transaction has been attempted. This is a scam call.

I think this is a scam number. Recorded American accent saying HMRC and that a fine would be implemented and to press 1 to speak to someone. Obviously I didn’t, line then went dead !!

Number 02071124802 phoned me and said they was from start up loans. www.startuploans.co.uk and wanted me to transfer them £58 for the loan to be secured under the insurance. They provided me with a person called Jamin bank details which straight away is strange for a company. I was told it was the managers details as money transferred to the company always bounces back. Male voice, indian accent. All I could understand was "I am calling you today......... mam". I asked him to speak slowly and clearly, he repeated the garbled content and I told him I didnt understand and needed him to speak slowly. He hung up. Sounded like a typical phishing call. Sad he hung up, I like to play them along for a while just for my entertainment and waste their time.

Received a text which I believe to be a scam text message claiming that I should visit a website to claim my £400 entitlement for the new Government fuel bill discount scheme, yet my fuel providers have already previously stated that I need do nothing as the discount will be applied automatically without me having to claim it.

Called saying they're from Carphone Warehouse, offering me an iphone. Thought I'd play along for a bit instead of hanging up. Asked where they're based so, so I could see if they're far from me. They hung up immediately. Ah well, so much for my game.

Completely agree with the other review. There's no reason for me to be called from England. I WOULD ADVISE NOT TO CALL THIS NUMBER BACK, as the number showed as possible fraud. There have been accounts of people calling a number like this back and getting charged a lot of money.
