Same Indian person who called last week about SSE shares. When asked if he represented SSE he did have the decency to say No directly. At which point the call was terminated. Obviously they do not record the results of their calls, so can we expect more calls in the future with the hope that we will in a moment of madness change our position?

Unknown Telephone number, caller didn't speak a news item and did't use the answering machine. One year ago we got similar calls from England and don't know who it was...

Fraud This is a criminal fraudulent recorded voice telling me it is from 'Your Bank' and telling me of recent changes to my account that didn't happen including money transferred to 'An International Money Transfer Service' Illegal scam.

Said they were BT, I had too many people using my IP. The account name was wrong. They said they could block them from their server, but it would be better from my PC. After my challenges they sent a text message with a verification code. It said to change my password. I did. Had one previously, real BT support said it was a scam. Assumed this identical call was too. Only the false account name was a clue, otherwise how can you tell?

I was called today by this number. They said they were calling about my internet speed. They couldn't give me my account number but knew my name and address. I said I would call my internet provider myself so they hung up on me..I treat all these type of phone calls as a scam..

I answered a call from this number, and heard a male at the other end of the line with the sound of other people in the room. He didn’t answer immediately, and after a short while asked if I could hear him, to which I, possibly foolishly replied “Yeah, yeah”. The phone was not put down at his end, but there was no reply when I tried to communicate at which point I ended the call.

Calls saying HMRC fraud line & you will be prosecuted if you don't hold the line.

The error message suggested I called a helpline (number stated 020) said to be Microsoft Security. I rang, lady answered (Indian/pakistan accent) lots of noise in the background, she wanted me to depress the windows and the letter R key on my laptop. was evasive when I asked what would happen. Some clown demanding to speak to an IT manager. Gave the name of someone who doesn't even work here ! Turned out he couldn't even phone the correct company. As if any sensible organization would pick up the phone to complete strangers enquiring about their IT systems ! Almost certainly some kind of scam. Number blocked.
