Decided to answer to have a bit off fun with the likely scammer but call cut off by the other party (remote dialler ?) as I went to answer. The number 01736 735261 called me about 10.30am 28/06/23 and it was a recorded message from an International Banking service stating I had made a payment of £300 to Amazon and £1100 to another provider. Told me to press 1 if correct and 2 to speak with an adviser. Pressed 2 and answered by "This is Officer Stephen, how can I help". When I asked which organisation he represented the phone went dead.

SCAM: I believe this caller is possibly cloning local STD numbers. In an American automated-voice it then claims a substantial purchase has been made fron Amazon via your VISA account. Both of these accounts I have since checked and have not been affected in this way, hence my reporting this bogus land-line call.

23 calls from 16 Mar 2023 to 31st May 2023 asking for someone who does even live at the address and no matter how many times i tell them they continue to call nearly everyday sometimes they hang up on me answering

Believe this to be a scam. They will hang up and leave no message. Several minutes later you will recieve a SMS to say you have a voicemail and to call 22299. This is not my normal voicemail number they have no message.

TAXES / HMRC SCAM - Received a call from this number. Recorded message informing me that a letter from HMRC had been returned and therefore proceedings are going to be issued against me. I was instructed to press '1' to speak to an advisor but I hung up instead and reported the call to ICO.org.uk. I am hoping that this is not somebody's private number being cloned.

Automated Scam call stating they were from Visa Debit Security and were querying a large transaction I had made - was this genuine or did I want to cancel this which would no doubt have required me to quote the card details!! I put the phone down on these criminals
