Asian/Indian sounding man rang at 6pm 15/01/18 and wanted to know if I had received my local Comet paper in the past few weeks. Stupidly I though it odd but as he mentioned my local paper I presumed genuine. I told him I hadn't received any. He then checked the street name with me and mumbled a house number which I couldn't distinguish. I didn't give him my house number but confirmed the street. Having tried to ring the number this morning it is not valid and now reading these posts I can see it is a scam.

The actual number displayed on my phone was 012826230518252 which has too many digits, dialling back gets nowhere as when reaching no 1 I get the bleeps and number dialled incorrectly.

Calling on multiple numbers and trying to force him to invest in some scene which he has refused but they won’t take no for an answer, even when he told them he was going to report them they took no note. Be aware, the line is for shared costs, DO NOT call them back. Very similar numbers are already reported with life insurance, PPI, pensions - mostly scam to gain your personal info. I would recommend to block this number. Does someone have any experience with this one?

A lady calling herself Christine but with a thick Asian accent claimed to be from Windows customer services in Manchester, said my computer had been hacked by the Russians, and offered to show me how to find them on my computer, why the Russians? Not having all day to listen to her B.S, I asked what the solution would be, she said she would go through my computer and cure the problem, Yeah right! told her that`s what scammers usually do, Seemed quite offended and chucked the phone down!
