SCAM / SPAM Automated message allegedly investigating a fraudulent transaction on the Visa card attached to my Amazon account (iPhone refurbishment @ £350). Told to "press 1" to contact Amazon Fraud Detection team otherwise my Amazon account will be suspended. No such transaction showing up on my Amazon account or Visa card. I suspect this is a phishing scam..

Sure enough an Indian accented woman said "Hello how are you?" When I asked who she was, she said she was calling from she replied, Curry's PC World. They scammed the company I work for by paying for their order for banners by cheque. They then claimed to have overpaid by £2,000. Unfortunately our young owner was unaware they had paid by cheque and as Nat West had the money as cleared on his account, he paid them the 2k direct into their bank account! It s harder for young people who have little knowledge of cheques. Robbing, thieving scammers; what goes round comes round - as in you ll get yours !!

Shortly afterwards, I looked up Cambridge Joining Technology Ltd, which turns out to be a real company, and called the mobile number on its website and warned the man that his company name is being used.
