They told me they were from Sky, our provider, and that there had been issues for the past 2 days which they were going to sort over the phone. I hung up and surprisingly he didn’t ring back!! Had a call yesterday also asking if hubby would like to upgrade his mobile. No. If I want sky I’ll ring them

Fraud. Got a text supposedly from GOV.UK with an https// click-in, advising me that they have identified me as being eligible for a discounted energy bill under the energy bill support scheme. Mmmm how did they know my number? why didn't I get an official letter/mmmm. No surprise really it's a fraud scam, the government doesn't text you to tell you they are giving you money,and as far as I know will never do this anyway. Why aren't they traced and shut down?

As I am a Housing Rights Worker for Shelter, I am well aware of how to get repairs actioned. They went silent when I explained this. If you speak then the line is detected as 'a voice phone line' and logged, a scammer will then call you later! If you don't recognize the number calling - DON'T SPEAK FIRST, JUST LISTEN. If you don't hear anything and after a short pause the line goes dead, then you have just successfully escaped being scammed! Well done. THESE CALLS ARE HARASSING AND ALWAYS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS!

I was called on my mobile from this number at 15.05 on 4 May 2023. I didn't get to the phone before it stopped ringing and there was no message left. On 24 April 2023, I was also called from a number in the same range, that is 0141 320 0285, with exactly the same results. I've now blocked both numbers, but no doubt they could call me next week from 0141 320 0275 or similar! I've given it the benefit of the doubt with a rating of Annoying. I think it's actually likely to be Dangerous.
