I was called by this number to say someone was trying to purchase 200 on amazon and 700 on ebay. They first said my visa was being used I don't have a visa, then he said it could be a Mastercard? I asked who he was , he said 81 Newgate Street London, but I meant was he from my bank ?, he said he was from barclays , I do not have a barclays account.

Automated call Recieved a call from this number threatening it was a Fraud investigation giving me a reference number then directing me to press one to get through to an agent. I rang the number back using 141 to hide my number. When the person finally answered it sounded like a work place in the background. it sounded like they were on hands free/speaker and I heard a man say "get off the phone" in a disgruntled voice and then he ended the call. Don't know what they wanted but it's annoying to get calls like this. I've now blocked the number.
Pure Scam. Seller pretend to be a assistant of one of the China stores on Aliexpress. He arrange to take the first payment for the items you want to purchase then he requests hiden customs charges for the shipment and even if you pay them it wont change that you never get your goods delivered

This number rang my landline again at 1:02pm, I refused to answer and they did not leave a message. As I am now on the new Digital Voice service, I have now added this to my blacklist before I am pestered again by whoever is calling from London.

Known scam 0845 and 0843 numbers call for a second or two. They rely on you to call back as the number looks official. You are then played a recorded message that is designed to keep you on the line as the call is charged at over a £1 per minute. So you end up paying for the scam and your phone company probably won't help as you made the call willingly.
