I have called applianceserve on 08004118899. I said I had asked for a refund of the £175 I had paid for my washing machine to cover the next 3 years following the expiry of the manufacturer s guarantee but had not received any response. Having seen comments on the internet saying it was a scam, I said if the company is genuine then please can you arrange a refund. She looked up my details and said someone will call me tomorrow in office hours. She sounded pleasant - so - watch this space!!

UPDATE FROM CHEAP WEB DESIGN: Unfortunately we continue to be hounded by scammers which is resulting in thousands of people calling us back to see why they were called (we're only a team of 8 so have had to disable our phones and put a pre-recorded message). Silent calls are made once or twice daily. My answer-phone states "the caller has cleared", and normally the number is withheld, but not on this and a previous occasion. The pattern of the calls makes me think it is the same caller, [for many months]. The TPS advise it may be silent or abandoned calls,or recorded calls.
