I think it could be PPI advertising as I recently filled in a form online (although I did click to not receive any marketing calls). When I phoned the number back, there was an option to enter your number to then remove the information from their database. I did so. Within 24 hours it will be removed, according to them.. here s hoping!

I ve just had a call from this number (well spoken English male) offering me a nuisance calls device. I questioned him coming to the cost of the service he asked if I am over 65 and in this case it will be 2 pounds a year (!) for 3 years after which it will be free !!! I wanted him to speak to my husband but he was not available at the moment. He hung up.

The individual announced themselves as Alpine Group but having recently received a call from another similar number last week, I told the female caller to STOP THERE! then hung up. this number has called several times saying they are from british gas accounts, I told an asian sounding guy I wasn twith British gas so he kept asking who my supplier wa, I told him I wasn t prepared to give him that information and hung up. I had already checked this number and contacted my supplier(British gas lite) who assured me my account is an online product and under no circumstances would they phone me.
