I've just had a call from this number and it is a genuine number from Nationwide building society, They were calling to update me on a problem I had reported.

They do announce themselves to contact customers on behalf of EON and are not actually EON.I am sure eon knows about it despite they deny they use such call centres. 020 8144 3803 Windows computer virus scam. They (whoever 'they' are) have been using the same script for years. In fact, this number goes back a while. They con you into giving them access to your PC, plant a virus on it (supposedly) then charge you £100's to remove it. Just hang up & block the number.

Can’t find anything in a google search that confirms this. Therefore I believe this number is a scam.
