Hi my name is Mrs Margaret Bird, I was left a message on my mobile at the end of last week. I did ring back on Friday afternoon & was told that I would be contacted this morning. My mobile number is 07708696000 & my address is 6 Duncan Avenue, Otley, LS21 3LN. I think the call was about a scan that I had at Harrogate Nightingale on 22nd September. Missed call from this number in Bristol to Irish mobile. I was suspicious about this but figured it might be genuine since it was from the UK? I called back, somewhat against my better nature, and was immediately put through to an interactive voice menu with a strong US accent, which asked me to hold and started to read out menu options. No company information whatsoever given so it immediately felt like a scam to draw me in and keep holding, presumably to rack up charges. Hung up right away. Avoid.

My mobile flagged the number as spam so I answered with my usual 'can i help you' and a woman asked for me, i replied again 'can i help you' and she started talking so fast about some sort of market research. Fraud - claim to be from HMRC and there is a warrant for your arrest. They say don't hang up phone call otherwise they will record that you tried to run away from arrest and they will be waiting at your place of residence until you arrive to arrest you. With the pandemic, lots of people have had trouble paying tax, so it might seem real, but this is a scam. They will always give you a chance to work out a payment plan. Avoid, block.
They rang saying I had signed up to extra income on line. When I claim I hadnt he repeatedly asked why I wouldnt do it, literally shouting down the phone at me "what is stopping you, dont you want a better life for you family" he kept shouting. Until eventually after asking him to remove my number off their records I gave up and hung up.
