This was a call from a person saying they were from Virgin Media reporting that our internet had been hacked on numerous occasions to cut a long story short I was asked to download the TeamViewer App onto my iPad so they could “put everything right” they were very convincing and I foolishly parted with some money before my switched on son overheard me and hung up the call, I have deleted the app and contacted by bank to report the “Scam” I wanted to forewarn everyone if they receive a call hang up immediate

Had a call from this number three or four times in the last couple of weeks. It rings for no more than five seconds then stops. I bought a whistle off ebay last week. Next time they call i'll pick up and use it. See if i can blow out their ear wax! :)

'Chris' told me he was from a Claims Company based in Truro and he was calling about a previous ppi claim that I had been underpaid for. He was quite convincing giving me the company reg no & address so I could confirm he was legit! He knew my address/DOB and the details of my previous claim. The Claims Company only has 2 employees, neither based in London! Definitely a scam beware as he was very convincing and never asked for bank details! SPAM. I have been getting 2 calls a day on my mobile for several months. every call uses a different number. Until recently these numbers were from a lady speaking Chinese, who then switched to English prompting a message that indicted. I received a call from someone who said they were from BT and that they had detected that my BT landline had a low broadband speed... This is unlikely as I don't use BT!!!! This is obviously a scam. Checked the 01322225284 number that came up on my display and found that the caller was phoning from the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel at Dartford Bridge, UK! Beware, do not give personal or banking details!!!!

This number called this morning claiming to be from my broadband provider and said there were problems with my broadband. Told him I had no such problems and said goodbye. He knew who my broadband provider is. I’m not sure how to rate this because I don’t listen any further. How easily could he con someone else to do what ?

Scammers. An indian man called saying he is from Sky broadband and needs to check something about the security of the connection. He asked if I had an android phone where I could download a specific app (TeamViewer QuickSupport or AnyDesk Remote Desktop). If you install these apps they will try to get remote access to your phone and will steal everything they can. Just hang up and report the number.

I received a call from somebody claiming to be from SSE. He wanted to talk about a new contract. He didn’t specify whether it was gas or electricity. I asked him to send your new prices by email. He seemed upset by this very simple request stating that it was impossible. I told him to call back when he had sent the email. He rang from this number 2 days later and came out with the same nonsense. He said he was Roger. I hung up and complained to SSE.

Apparently I was due to compensation £££m having been conned by Mecedes about emissions. Told him I had seven Mercs, was a little busy and could he just put the money into a plain envelope and leave it underneath a bench at Fenchhurch Street station without passing GO, and I would have my butler pick it up later. He cut me off without confirming. The number is now blocked. Sense a potential scam.
Insurance, claiming to be calling about your life insurance saying they may be able to find you a better deal for your life insurance, asks the basic questions, but wants your account number and sort code to setup a direct debit by the end. Unsure if they are a legit company or not as obviously ended the call before giving details.

Automated call A number that shows up as a local call on my landline (without prefix)..However, it is followed by the well-known 7 bleeps and a pre-recorded message saying "Thank you for calling". I have received hundreds of calls of this type from numbers all over the country. Why it seems to be impossible to put a stop to the company that is responsible for these nuisance calls is something I simply do not understand.

I had a call from this number this morning at 10.49 (approx) and a recorded message came which told me that my Visa card had been used by someone for £900. I didn't bother to listen to the whole message as it was obvious to me that it was a scam. Interestingly I waited a few minutes and then called the number back (which I don't usually bother to do) and a very nice lady answered who said that she ran a clinic. It became obvious that she was genuine and that the scammers had used her number.
