It is a scam. This number was used to call me to say someone had fraudulently ordered a £750 i phone from Amazon and I should press a digit on my phone to be put through to someone who could help me. Checked my acct and nothing amiss.

Was an answerphone recording telling me I owed money to the Tax office. I blocked the number as I'm sure HMRC don't use mobile phones to make calls, and will find a conventional method of contacting me rather than a dodgy auto service.

The exact number was 01340 831714. After searching it here, I called the number back. It has a BT call screener on it. A Scottish sounding older lady picked up the phone. I told her my name and said I'd had a missed call from her number at 7:47am this morning (3-3-23). Her reply? "No, not me, no you haven't" and then she put the phone down. I'm not sure if this number is a scam or not because my card had stopped working the day before, but would always recommend if you need to contact the bank then google what their phone number is and ring that one, NOT the number a message asks you to call (for coop bank it should be 0345 721 2212)

Had a Spam Call with 01223936981 displayed (Cambridge). Recorded message played to me with usual '£700' suspicious charge from Amazon and '£2000' International Charge made on my Account etc. Ignored the request to respond. Telephoned the displayed number 15 minutes later, got 'unobtainable signal'. Note : an hour earlier had the same call but with a local Northampton number displayed. I called this number and the residents did not know anything about the Call. They reported it to BT for investigation.
