This is apparently a lottery syndicate. They wanted me to set up a direct debit of £39/month. It started from a "win a free iPhone, guaranteed". They asked for my contact details, and then it became apparent that my details would be given to lots of companies. Then 02036346988 called me. This is apparently a syndicate of 150 people and you get 75 lines per week, in the EuroMillions lottery. If you win nothing in any month, then you get a full refund of your £39. SCAM Persistent automated calls claiming to be from 'your internet provider' (immediately an obvious scam as your own internet provider would identify themselves!) then threatens disconnection due to illegal activity on the account. Presume will then attempt to extort money, but don't listen to call beyond the first bit.

Answered this call and they said they were from Vodafone and said they were calling about my high phone bills recently to which I replied I have not had any high bills as never go over my allowance, the reply was okay goodbye. Tried phoning again today - didn't answer. Definitely a scam.

SCAM I recieved a telephone call from what sounded like a call center, but the number was local (01942 491331) the man who spoke was asian sounding claiming to be from the' tax office', said I owed 6 months taxes. I challenged him and asked what ref number he had, he couldn't tell me so I asked for a name and number to call back but he just insisted I pay now or I would be arrested!, so I asked how much? he still couldn't tell me or even my name, just repeated my phone number.
