Called me and hung up immediately the ansaphone cut in. Tried calling them back but got a message that the number dialled had not been recognised. I suspect that it s a Skype type call from a foreign country - they usually come up with a number that looks like a uk STD code but could be from anywhere in the world.

Claimed to be from "Alba Services", saying that "money has been allocated" for improving energy efficiency in homes. Told me that they got the phone number from a "homeowner database" but wouldn t give any further info. It must be a crap database as this is a newsagents shop.... Chancing scammers.

Unfortunately whatever you register for they always want a number so there s a lesson to us all. Don t give out your number if you don t want to be called!!!! This is very similar to 0121 389 0863 and suggests in the same office. 0121 389 0863 is noted as being a nuisance call about accidents we have had or in my case not had. Now blocked.

Caller purported as acting as 3rd party for a Finance Company which I have just used (so far so good). Wasn t happy when started to ask for relatively minor details (address/post code) so caller advised not prepared to discuss further.
