Call center SPAM Said his name was Alex, however he had a very strong Indian accent. He said that he was phoning from British Gas!? It was about boiler cover, house hold cover for both gas and electric. Asked a couple of questions. He said that he was calling from London, when I asked him what the weather was like in India, and it would be set up today! When I challenged him again, and told him that he was calling from abroad, and at that point he hung up on me. This just confirms my suspension tha
SCAM / SPAM I have had this call on two different numbers over the past couple of days saying he is Matthew calling back about the government loft insulation scheme. When you say you don't have a loft, the call just hangs up.
I had a call from this number saying it's the police and my national insurance has been used for suspicious activities. They threatened me with arrest and then asked me for my name and my insurance number, When I said I wouldn't give it to them and would present myself to a precinct instead they hung up on me.

28 Oct 2021 - Received 3 phone calls from this number , Glasgow based - I finally answered could tell it was a call centre , asked lady with annoying voice what call was for. These people have been ringing me twice daily for about two weeks. They rang me four times today and I finally picked up - total nonsense, a man on the end of the line explained that he was calling about a bank loan I took out in 2006 . I was fourteen in 2006. What a bunch of morons.

It says this is Clearanswer, a marketing company and one of BTs partners.....comments from the general public seem to suggest otherwise. A very foreign voice suggested my BT contract was coming to an end. I don’t discuss new contracts with a cold caller. When I said it wasn’t due to be renegotiated she hung up...not the sort of thing a genuine person would do.
Called and the on my answering, the receiver, definitely a handset not switch, was put down with a clatter.
