Rang me claiming to be from ‘social housing’, I queried which one and she said ‘the council’. Told her to stop harassing me and she starts saying ‘you’re no one, who do you think you are telling me what to do’. She not so politely got told where to go.

I had a phone call re banking and I think this is a scam
Just called me regarding an attempted transaction to John Lewis. Said my account was ‘under attack’ and there had been several suspicious transactions. He said he would escalate my case to Level 3 fraud, set up a new account number and sort code with a random generated name. Phoned Santander fraud department who confirmed my account was safe - the scammer then called me back ‘No Caller ID’! so I told him in no uncertain terms that he was a scamming bastard and he could go forth and multiply.

Asian voice called me claiming to be from EE, offering 40% off charges. I could see it was an Inverness number so said I didn't believe he was from EE, at which point he said I could fcuk myself! Number now blocked.

My work phone was called by this number, and got a recorded message, ostensibly from my bank, saying the two large transactions, one of which was to Amazon for £999 had been blocked, and said that I had a choice to either release the transactions or speak to a representative. This number is supposedly based in Slough, but that's not where my bank is, so I ignored it.

Not sure about this number - a lady called Jo has just phoned me about energy conservation and need to check my loft insulation to. I am quite concerned as a surveyor is going to ring me to make an appointment to come and inspect the insulation. Have checked the number it’s from Peterborough! Won’t be letting anyone in my house.

I had a call today from a South African sounding lady, from London number 020 8089 6127 said she was calling from a company called Teabag that got my suspicions up straight away, asked to speak to me by name, so she already had my name and phone number somehow. Mobile phone spam / scam / fraud. Scammers pretend to call from Currys Mobile department. They will sign you up on a completely different deal than agreed initially with the most expensive phone available. They use several phone numbers some of them on Whatsapp. Also will e-mail an order confirmation from an address that seems genuine. It's not. After receiving the parcel they will try to convince you to send the phone back to some shady residential address. Avoid!
