Vague, 'time-sensitive' threat of legal action, allegedly from the HMRC. I doubt it very much. "Get ready to face the legal consequences," it says. Utter rubbish. Complete scam.
This is a company called www.ppiclaimine.com. They have a freephone number 0800 0783542 which took me an age to track down. The person who has been harassing me for 2-years now is well spoken but with a potty mouth when challenged. Please keep on calling this number (it s free and you have nothing to lose). We need to fight back against these scammers.
Not in the habit of giving out my personal mobile number to just anyone or any businesses. Although I ve had 6 calls from this number in the past few days, no idea who it is, as I have absolutely no intention whatsoever of answering calls from numbers I do not recognise, especially if they begin 0845. Just blocked the number from my list of recent calls on my iPhone, which sends them directly to voicemail as opposed to bothering me with something I am unconcerned about. My husband passed the call to me as it related to my washing machine insurance renewal so I did not hear any name or how the call started. He did rather a hard (and fast) sell with a reduced annual figure but taking 3 years immediately. He seemed to have details of my current annual figure. I checked with D&G who deal with the insurance and they did not recognise the phone number as belonging to anyone working for them.
