Text message claiming to be Lloyds bank asking me to confirm a new payee on my account and asking me to click on a link. As I don't have an account with Lloyds and as I greatly doubt they would contact customers from a mobile number, I assume this to be a scam.

In less than 1 hour of me putting an ad on gumtree I was inundated with calls from this number and others with a Manchester area code. I kept blocking their numbers, but then they called from different landlines and mobile phone numbers asking if I d had an accident in the last three years and I would be entitled up to £4K. Calls regularly, but when I answer there is nobody on the other end. I called the number back but either don t get an answer or it rings out. It is a Glasgow dialling code but I don t know anybody in Glasgow and have no dealings with any businesses there. I ve blocked the number and reported to OFCOM. I would advise anybody else being pestered by this number to do the same.
