Upon answering a call on the land line around 18:30 this evening, the caller hung up so out of curiosity I dialled 1471 (UK), the call back service and I pressed 3 on my phone to be put directly through to the missed call number. I didn t catch the receivers company name but heard a American or maybe Canadian Man s accent and instructions for extension required. I hung up but thought to call 1471 again and noted down the number being, 0203-4574180 and dialled it to ascertain exactly who had called in case i

Caller sais they worked for Microsoft and tried to take me to website that would download software on to my laptop. This is a scam and they are trying to load malware on to your machine. Do not listen to the caller!

How are scam companies like these able to get our phone detals when, as mentioned above, we ve only taken out a contract from Phones 4 U about 2 weeks ago?? I have not yet answered one of these calls as i tend not to answer unknown or unfamiliar numbers but next time they call, i think i ll either repeat their questions back to them until they get p*****d off and hang up or pretend to be a take away food outlet and demand their order from them!!
