I moved house four months ago. I have a private and protected landline number (used to be called ex-directory). I have a call from this number at 7.15 pm on a Sunday evening??? How and why?? I'll just block it but I shouldn't have to and telephone numbers should NOT be shared by whoever and however my private number was made available.
Received call, recorded message, pertaining to be HMRC asking me to press a number to talk to them about incorrect tax return. I believe this to be fraudulent and that HMRC would not make contact in this manner.

They were going to get my grants and everything but they are not communicating by email which is strange. When I ask them to send me an email they don’t send any email. He said he was working for Amazon and needed to track down who had ordered 2 mobile phones from Amazon using my bank details (which he had) but had arranged to be delivered to an address that was not mine. To do this he wanted me to go into my bank app and arrange a transfer of £5000 to an account for which he provided and which my bank cleared as existing. I went along with it up to the point of transfer and he then became pressing and agitated.

Robin called. Sounded foreign. Said he was calling from the call blocking and scam department. When I asked what company he was calling from he said "the national call blocking company limited" i said there was no such thing. Curious how this was 24 hours after "microsoft" called me and I told them I didn't believe them..... Told him the only legit call blocking was The Telephone Preference Service, and he hung up.
01223931099 rang with a very loud background noise proporting to be a call centre. The caller, with a strong foreign accent, alleged he was from sky refund centre; however, when I said ok in a less than enthusiastic manner, the caller hung up. This is most unlike any sky call centre I have experienced. I suspect it to be a scam.

He tried the usual of scaring me into thinking was something wrong – this time by looking at event viewer.
