Yes, this definitely seems a genuine HSBC number but based in the Philippines. I received an SMS about a large payment I had made the day before and they were double-checking. HSBC do this type of checking all the time in Asia ( while I was living there), but less so in the UK.

When asked which department revealed to be Shenco Associates (or something like that)...but tried to be persistent without revealing WHO she was actually speaking to. I said that was fine, however she then asked me for details off my card for identity verification to which I answered you rang me and told me my name?? I ended the phone call very soon after that and didn t part with any details. If this is a genuine call from BT they should be pulled up for harassment themselves.
