Man with Pakistani accent (no name given) said my computer is giving me trouble. It is, as it's refusing to boot up. He also said it is a laptop, correct again. I do my utmost to keep everything secure, with passwords, 3 step authentication, etc. How has he got in?

It was someone claiming to be my daughter saying she had lost her phone and to ring her back on the above number. Daughter was with me at the time she definitely hadn't lost her phone. So in my opinion it was a scam.

Twice when I picked up the phone the line went dead. The third time, a lady said something which included the words "Tax refund" but, despite asking her to repeat herself several times, I could not make out anything else she said as she had a very strong foreign accent. So I blocked the number.

I have just received a call from this number from someone saying they were from vodaphone and that I was to be offered a new handset. I did not listen to the rest of the story as i suspect it was a scam. I cut the call and checked the number immediately. It appears not to be listed as a scam number but beware.

SCAM Presented themselves as an online competition for a DELL laptop through The Warehouse New Zealand. They asked for an entry fee to get our bank card number, took the entry fee then 3 days later took more money.
