States call from Mastercard about a foreign transaction with the usual press 1 for assistance. Obviously fishing phone call.
SCAM / SPAM This is a scam operation, cold-calling British expats overseas (probably from a database of names and numbers) and trying to sell them insurance, investments or other financial products. They claim to be a financial advisory company called GCM Global Connect Marketing https://globalconnectmarketing.co.uk/ But all the numbers are fake. Now using 0161 850 1033 same story,they and others pressurisng my wife to make a claim following a minor car accident 2 years ago. I grabbed the phone and told them to drop it I would be taking action. Reported to ICO.org.uk and blocked the number. SCAM I'm a Spanish resident living in Spain. I got several calls from this and another related number. A woman with Asian accent speaking not very good English claiming to be calling from Microsoft (first in California, then in the UK) told me there was a security issue in my computer and I needed to turn it on to follow her instructions. She passed the phone to a native English speaker when I said I couldn't understand. None of them sounded very professional at all and, in fact, the man insulted me.

I received a call from this number a while ago. When I picked it up I heard "thanks for your patience you will be transferred to an agent now" and the call was terminated. I called them back and a woman answered hello this is consumer helpline, how can I help . She then started saying something about loans. I am applying to jobsites and apparently there is a connection between a jobsite and this call, as I ve read in other comments as well.
