Definite scam. Claimed (falsely) to be Harry from Carphonewarehous3 in London calling because "we have a special offer on new phones today". I live in Scotland, he's calling from London claiming to be a big phone store. They would never ring me like that, nor you either. How could he have got my number legitimately? He immediately went into "what phone are you using?" Obviously looking to sound like he could choose an upgrade whilst scamming you out of the cost of the non-existent

Called about bitcoin, and said my number was associated with bitcoin purchase about 4 years ago. I did not even have this number that long ago. Sounded very shady, when I questioned what it was about they rushed to hang up saying that they would be in contact when they could prove it.

Recording supposedly from Amazon saying Amazon Prime will be renewed automatically unless you ring number. Don't have Amazon Prime. Presume a scam call, phishing for amazon account passwords and bank accounts details

A man called saying he was calling on behalf of O2, saying under O2 I was eligible for a reduced business contract. When I challenged him that he was not calling from O2 he then said he was calling from a company called YourMobile.com which 'works with an O2 platinum business partner' (Plan.com). I said he should know my contract with O2 if he was phoning on behalf of any area of O2 and then he hung up. This is a scam

My Mum got scammed with a company called World IT pro saying they worked with Microsoft. They actually remote installed remote tracking software so they could see all her computer activity and charged her £300 for 'five years protection' - I called and complained and said I thought it was a scam and they refunded it (or it looks like they have - the money hasn't come back into the bank yet). They refunded my mum on the basis of what I said - did not get her authority to talk to me - SCAM

Claims to be from a loft survey company "Acting on behalf of a local government grant" but when I asked which grant or even which property they were calling about became immediately offensive. Don't know who called me from this number. I jumped out of bed when the phone rang but I didn't pick up as I didn't recognise the number. It was 7:36 am ffs! Even the sun was still in bed where I live in Greater Manchester and I do't even know where Thanet is, never mind why someone from there would be phoning me at an ungodly hour. I highly suspect this was a scam call.
