This number called me this morning, despite my number being on TPS. Told me I "had been involved in a serious road accident" (which I hadn t, of course) and became offensive when I asked them not to call my number.

1 ring & hang up as all above said. Ofcom say by returning their calls you will be charged UP TO 13pmin landline 43p min mobile (plus setup fee) So dont bother returning their call. Probably just a recorded message anyway.

Ex directory numbers are not immune from auto diallers which call every number in a sequence without regard to ex directory, TPS etc status.

Since last July I have been getting calls from this number (plus variations of the number)clearly the same company. I ignore most but sometimes answer. Twice I told them to take me off their systems (after pressing 5 to get through to someone), including that I don t mean make a note on the computer not to call but that I meant remove me completely. I was told they would do that. Now when I answer to tell them not to call they 1) hang up and 2) keep calling regular. They are breaking the law by ringing when

Strong foreign accent asking me to confirm my name and address. I asked where got his information from. He proceeded to tell me he was doing a survey on household appliances. I asked again where he got his information from as I am TPS registered and ex directory. Also told him that I do not appreciate being questioned by unsolicited phone calls. He said something along the lines of, "Oh, TPS, this won't happen again". Very hard to understand fully. Suspect some sort of scam.
