They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. They called yesterday (missed) and today. Sombeody who wanted to "help me get a better deal" on my energy. I am not even a homeowner. I asked them how they got my number. Apparently I "must have filled in an online survey" and they bought my details from them. Dubious, seeing as I don't give out my phone number for good reason, don't do online surveys and always make sure to check/uncheck boxes as appropriate.

Fraud Automated voice pretending to be HMRC claiming there is a tax payment owed, if you do not press 1 it claims a warrant for your arrest will be issued to your name. Total hoax, HMRC calls from a registered number not a mobile.

SCAM - Someone will call you with a fake name, pretending that you have been involved in a car accident recently. They will then tell you that they are the other party insurance company but they can also help you retrieve your fund, you need to give them your personal information for them to refund you and for a generous fee of £500, they will cover the damages which are estimated at £15,000. how generous of them, is it not? Anyways, just block the number guys.
