Claiming to be from DWP. I got the call completely out the blue. It was a pre-recoded voice. A definite whiff of fraud about it. I hung up.

I've just had a voicemail from this number from holly Hartley too saying it's important I call back. Not sure whether to phone or not
I tried to book a room at The Principal Oxford Spires Hotel, Abingdon Road, OX1 4PS, Oxford and called a number 08448542910 indicated on their website. I had to call twice as there was an automated telephone service and no one was able to answer my phone calls. Last month I saw a charge of 1.38 GBP plus VAT on my phone bill!! What a wrong way to make money!! Looks like the hotel is doing that badly so they have to charge potential customers to simply book a room. According to the reviews on the above number

Answered because it showed a mobile number. Same as other reports, caller asked me to confirm that I had been in a car accident that wasn t my fault. I said no, and asked to be removed form the mailing list and not called again. She hung up. Blocked.

Some debt collection company using fake local area codes, you ring back and number doesn't exists.
texted me to inform me i was owed £3350 for PPI which I took out. However. i ve never took out any PPI !! I always thought it was illegal for a firm to say you definitely had won something when you hadnt.

They said they were calling from HMRC, however HMRC never calls mobile numbers. Phone scams are a common way for criminals to con people out of money using various tricks to get your personal or financial information. If this really is HSBC s fraud dept they are staggeringly incompetent and l am by no means convinced that it is. Question of whether there has been fraud on my account remains unsolved - l was unable to give the exact year that l opened my account - approx 40 years ago - and so failed my telephone security check .
