SCAM Had a call from this number 8.45 Saturday morning. Started off saying calling from Virgin media and that my broadband connection was not working properly a d she was going to boost it. Then she tried the old scam of getting me to log on to my laptop or computer and pressing CTRL and windows keys. Fishing trip! He asked to speak to Mrs Sims (not my name) and when I asked what the call was regarding he claimed to be calling from the Department of Work !!!!! Apparently according to the system I have worked in a factory. Asked which system and received the reply the work system !! These people don t like to be questioned to any great extent as it exposes the holes in their ridiculous stories. Called the number back and it s a call centre that doesn t receive incoming calls.

After much back and "fourthing"he advised he was from "Duel Fuel" and his name was Jamal. Then he asked what was the company he has called an our number!! Very odd

SCAM Call from Sky technician department! Strong Asian accent. There is a problem with my broadband router. Not with and never have been with sky. Wanted me to load an app on my phone so she could show me what the issue was with the router. Not happening I said. Got accused of arguing with her. If this really is HSBC s fraud dept they are staggeringly incompetent and l am by no means convinced that it is. Question of whether there has been fraud on my account remains unsolved - l was unable to give the exact year that l opened my account - approx 40 years ago - and so failed my telephone security check . May be genuine, but they asked me to repeat the same information re my account so many times that l was suspicious, and would urge caution
